Emily's CRaM homework 24/9/09

This session, the group went out around town, interviewing people and asking them about cars and the consession. We chose to film mostly in the field opposite the parkside school, because there were lots of people there. We managed to film atleast three good vox-pops. Having done this we didn't film as many people we had hoped to, because lots of people were willing to answer the questions, but werent wanting to be filmed. My main contribution today was filming, because thats what I enjoy doing. We also managed to film two people who are quite strange and unusual, which mad our filming a bit more fun XD.

It was enjoyable to go out around town to film instead of just filming each other, because it gets boaring after a while. We descovered that we were best off filming in the area of grass infront of Parkside school, because there are many more people there to film. Whereas filmin at the end of the Grafton Center was not such a good idea because people were in a hurry to catch the bus all the time. I learned that not all people drive around Cambridge, and so we need a better question than just about cars and the recession.
I have become better at holdin the camera still and not zooming in and out when I am filming. As a group we found it quite hard, because me and Hannah don't get along with Michael T, and so therefore it was hard to comunicate with him. I found it hard to interview people because I don't really like talking to people who I don't know, but I have improved since we first started.
The hardest part was trying to find people who were ok with being filmed. It was satisfying to finally get people to be interviewed by us. My strengths today were definately fiming. I was less successful at interviewing people. We succeeded in finally getting atleast five good shots.

In the future we must come up with a better question and a better script. Personally I want to swap groups because I really don't get on well with Michael. I shall try to get better at interviewing people. The next step would be to interview more people. By the end of this course, I want to have been able to interview atleast 6 people properly and learn more about the cameras, and how to use them.
